Last week I caught the flu, so I spent a significant amount of time at home resting, watching tv, and browsing Overdrive for audiobooks. These things were the highlight of my week.
What I watched:
Living Single is one of my favorite 90’s sitcom shows. This show includes some of the best characters in tv history and it’s hilarious. Hulu acquired rights to stream it recently, so I spent my time watching all 5 seasons and laughing. It’s still funny and relevant to today’s time.
What I listened to:
I finished the first book in the Percy Jackson series. I wrote a short review on Goodreads and placed a hold for the second book in the series. I don’t typically read middle grade, but I wanted something light. I want to read this series before I read The Trials of Apollo, which is sitting on my shelf.
The Read is a pop culture podcast hosted by Kid Fury and Crissle. It’s hands down my favorite podcast and part of my usual self-care routine. I can always count on The Read for a good laugh when my spirits are down. They discuss current topics in pop culture, answer listener letters, and each “read” someone for the week.
If for some reason you missed #BlackHogwarts trending on Twitter, then go search this tag and get a good laugh. This was the highlight of my Thursday.
I borrowed A Song of Ice and Fire (ASOIAF) by George R.R. Martin, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, and The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead from the library as audiobooks. I don’t know if I’ll finish all of them this month. ASOIAF is almost 34 hours long. I highly doubt I will finish it soon.
