Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
I chuckled when I saw that the topic for my first Top Ten Tuesday was Books I’m No Longer Interested In Reading because the bottom of my bookshelf is filled with books I want to unhaul. Seven of the books on this list are books I physically own and the other three are ebooks.
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell — This book has been on my shelf since May 2017. I picked it up sometime after finishing Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare. That wasn’t a great idea because I couldn’t really get into it.
I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson — I tried to read this book, but the writing was a little confusing, so I put it down for a few days. That was almost a year ago. I don’t think I’ll pick it up again.
The Nix by Nathan Hill — This was a random Target purchase from last year. I’m a mood reader and I just haven’t been in the right mood for this.
The Rose and The Dagger by Renee Ahdieh — I liked the first book in this duology, but for some reason I lost interest in the story because I hated the secondary male character.
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern — I read about 100+ pages of this book. I got distracted with other books and never picked it back up.
A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab — I honestly don’t know how I went from loving the first book in the Shades of Magic trilogy to where I am now. I didn’t enjoy A Gathering of Shadows (see review here), so now I have no interest in finishing the series. I think I need a break from series.
The Giver (The Giver #1) by Lois Lowry — I bought this ebook a couple years ago after I saw the movie.
The Language of Thorns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic by Leigh Bardugo — I would happily declare my love for Leigh Bardugo to anyone who will listen because I enjoy her writing. She’s an autobuy author for me but for some odd reason, I lost interest in finishing this book. I read one tale and enjoyed it. However, it took me forever to read that one tale because they’re kind of lengthy.
