February wasn’t a great reading month. I fell into a slump and didn’t accomplish the goal I set out at the beginning of the month to read books by black authors. I feel disappointed by this, but I know that there’s nothing I could’ve done about my slump. I was a sleep deprived grad student with low motivation to do anything that wasn’t an academic requirement.
I tried to read a couple of books, but I couldn’t get into them. I created a “try again later” shelf on Goodreads because I assume my slump and motivation were partly responsible. Somehow, Wonder Woman: Warbringer helped ease me back into reading this weekend and I hope to continue that with A Wrinkle In Time and Circe. With only three days left in February, I figured I should do this month’s wrap up early. The four books I read are linked to the reviews I wrote.
This month I only hauled two books: Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo is one of my favorite series, so I bought the new paperback copy to reread and annotate. The Belles was on my list of most anticipated 2018 books. I tried to read a little bit of it, but I couldn’t get into it. I added it to my “try again later” shelf on Goodreads.
Things I blogged this month:
1. Waiting on Wednesday: Children of Blood and Bone
2. Weekly Highlights: February 18
3. Top Ten Tuesday: Books I’ve Decided I’m No Longer Interested in Reading
4. Waiting on Wednesday: Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor
How was your reading this month? What books did you haul?
