April 2018 Wrap Up

Hi, friends! I can’t believe it’s already time for another wrap up. 2018 is flying by. This month was a slow reading month. I spent most of it watching Parks and Rec and wrapping up my last semester of grad school but, surprisingly, I finished 5 books. My average rating was 4.3 stars, which is quite high. I think that’s because of my Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom re-read. Without further ado, let’s get into the books I finished!

1. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (re-read) // I love this duology and I was feeling a bit nostalgic, so I decided to re-read. It’s still a 5 star read for me.

2. Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo (re-read) // I loved these characters and it was so hard to say goodbye to them in this book. A year after my first read, Crooked Kingdom is still exciting and a 5 star read.

3. The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan // I enjoyed this book and thought it was a satisfying ending to the Percy Jackson series. The Last Olympian is my favorite book in the series. I gave this 5/5 stars. Review to come.

4. Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. Choi // I picked up this book a few days ago while browsing and read it one day. I loved the diverse characters and I thought the story was really cute. I gave this 3.5/5 stars. Review to come.

5. The Cruel Prince by Holly Black //  I gave into the hype and bought this book when it came out. I didn’t hate it, but I also didn’t love it. I rated it 3/5 stars. Review to come.

1. Bookstagram 101: The Basics // If you’re new to Bookstagram, this post has some tips to help you get started

2. Review: An Ember in the Ashes // I finally reviewed An Ember An in the Ashes and the feedback from this was positive.

3. Bookish Academy Award Tag // This was a really funny tag!

4. Sunshine Book Blogger Award // I loved the nomination and doing this tag.

How was April for you? What books did you read and Haul in April? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for reading!

  1. Lovely post!! ❤ I spy The Poet X there and I hope you read it soon and love it because it’s been one of my favourites of the year so far!!
Also, I still have to read Crooked Kingdom, I think I’ll have to reread Six of Crows as well 🙈 Ah, sorry that The Cruel Prince was so and so to you, I feel like the ARC reviews were all sooo good and then after the release it got more and more bad reviews 😢 I don’t know how I’ll feel about it…
Happy reading and hope you have a great month!! ❤

    1. Thanks, Marta! I can’t wait to read The Poet X. I’ve heard great things about. And I hope you’ll read Crooked Kingdom soon. It’s the best one! I really wanted to love The Cruel Prince. Can’t wait to see what you think of it when you read it. Happy reading!

  2. Excellent wrap-up! I love re-reading the Six of Crows duology (my favorite YA series ever), and I really want to revisit the Percy Jackson series as well (it’s been so long!). Looks like you had a pretty great awesome month! 🙂
