Hi everyone! I saw this challenge on BooksandLala’s Youtube channel (see original challenge video here) and since I’m moving in July, I thought this would be a great way to start cleaning my apartment. I’ll likely donate these books to the library or give them away to other people. As an FYI, this is not personal. I’m just cleaning and will be getting rid of other things in my apartment, including furniture. I wish there was a challenge to help me sort through my kitchenware and the mess that is my hallway closet.
A Book You Rated Low
I pulled Anna and the French Kiss from my previous unhaul pile to read it. Now that I’ve read it, it’s time to finally give it a new home.
A Book You Changed Your Mind About
I bought The Handmaid’s Tale a year ago and I still haven’t read more than a few pages. I’m no longer interested in reading it, but I will finish the show.
A Series You Won’t Be Completing
I read the first two books in the Shades of Magic trilogy. I loved the first book and hated the second. A Conjuring of Light is way too long for me to continue a series I have mixed feelings about.
A Book You DNF’d (Did Not Finish)
I wanted to love The Wedding Date, but I couldn’t get through it. I was bored. The characters didn’t have chemistry, they didn’t communicate, and the writing style wasn’t working for me.
A Book You Have Multiple Copies Of
I have multiple copies of The Wrath and the Dawn because I love the new paperback covers.
A Book You’ll Never Actually Get To
I’ve had Flame in the Mist for almost year. I’m not going to get to it. I can feel this in my spirit.
A Book You Bought Because Of The Hype
I had mixed feelings about The Cruel Prince, so I’m okay letting this go.
A Book You Bought Because Of The Cover
I bought Swing Time because I saw the cover on Bookstagram almost a year ago. I don’t think I’ll ever get to it.
A Book You Don’t Know Anything About
State of Sorrow came in the March FairyLoot box. I have no idea what it’s about and I’m not interested.
A Book You Didn’t Buy
The Last Namsara came in the November or December FairyLoot box. I read the synopsis and I have no interest in it.
I’m tagging ALL OF YOU to do this challenge. Tag me in your posts, so I can read them. This is a great opportunity to do some spring cleaning. What books have you unhauled recently? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for reading!
I was sooo hyped for The Wedding Date but it was BAD. The writing was so clunky. Such a disappointment.

I was really disappointed. I was hyped for it too.

I need a GOOD, cute rom-com with diversity! If you haven’t read Alex, Approximately yet, that is the closest thing I can think of — the love interest is Asian/white and sounds sooo cute. But it’s YA and it also has some problematic things.

Ohh, this is a fun challenge! I wish I could get rid of books but I’m such a hoarder. I always think “oh, but what if I want to read it someday but I gave it away?”. That’s what happened after I sold my VHS tapes. I’m not regretting selling some of the movies because I wanted to watch them again but don’t own them </3 I hope moving goes well for you!!

Haha! I was kind of worried about that too because they’re brand new books, but my reading preferences are slowly changing and I kind of feel okay. Thanks for reading!

I’ve read so many mixed reviews about Anna and the French Kiss and am debating whether or not to read it. On one hand, I love fluffy contemporary in the summer but perhaps I should read another fluffy contemporary!!

I think if you’re in the mood for something that’s light and superficial, you may like it. I think going in with low expectations may help.

Cool tag! I’ve heard Anna and the French Kiss is a bit aggravating, and I’ve also heard mixed things about the Shades of Magic trilogy. Hope to read it someday still, but I’m apprehensive. 😉

Anna and the French Kiss is hilariously bad. I liked the first Shades of Magic book; however, I didn’t think it needed a sequel. When I found out it was a series, I was apprehensive about the second book. It just didn’t work for me.

Ooh love this tag! I got Cruel Prince because of the hype too. But honestly, who didn’t buy that book because of the hype? Hahaha. Loved your answers, Merline! ❤️

Hahaha! I don’t think I’ll ever stop buying hyped books. I always say I won’t, but something draws me to a few of them. Lol! Thanks for reading!
