May Wrap Up

May was a pretty incredible month! I graduated from my graduate program, read nine books (a record), and this blog surpassed 200 followers! It brings me so much joy knowing that I’m not just talking to myself and that you all are enjoying my posts! Thank you!

This month I read nine books! Eight of those were contemporary, one fantasy, and I dnf’d one book (not counted towards my reading goals). My average rating was 3.8, which is close to my typical average.

I’m absolutely shocked that I only read one fantasy novel this month because 98 percent of the books I read are fantasy. However, I was in the mood for contemporary books. The books I read, ratings, and the ones I’ve reviewed so far are linked below. The books I haven’t reviewed are coming in the upcoming days.

  1. Congrats on having such a phenomenal month! Nine books is great, and extra congrats on passing 200 followers!!! I’m super happy for you :)) I’ve read a disproportionate amount of contemporaries these past months too so maybe it’s just the happy spring/summer vibes in the air πŸ™‚ thanks so much for the mention ❀ ❀ ❀ I hope you have a lovely June πŸ™‚

  2. Last year, I read a surprising number of Contemporary as well. I think it’s because THEY ARE FINALLY DIVERSE. My teenager self is playing catch up. I want to buy all the diverse YA Contemporary but my heart is with fantasy. Congrats on your reading month! xo

    1. Thanks! I’m loving all the diverse contemporary. I don’t think contemporary will ever be my go to, but I’m going to try to avoid fantasy burnout by reading a few monthly.

  3. Congrats on reaching 200 followers — that’s AWESOME! I hope you do well in your June goals. I’m busy reading several books written by or about Louisa May Alcott this month (she’s the author of the classic Little Women). I’m actually hosting a reading challenge on my blog… so stop by if you’re interested!

  5. Awh, thank you for mentioning my discussion post! ❀
Looks like you had a great reading month! Personally, When Dimple Met Rishi wasn't entirely to my liking. Thought it was a shame how the entire competition simply faded into the background because that was one of the things I was looking forward to, haha.

June is all about rereading books for me – with, of course, Harry Potter being my main goal!
    Happy reading! πŸ™‚

    1. You’re welcome! Your post was super relatable.

I was disappointed with that as well. It was barely mentioned once Dimple and Rishi started dating/hanging out.

Have fun with your rereads!!! I need to plan my Harry Potter reread for 2018 soon.

      1. Thanks!

Exactly! I love competitions in books which is why that really influenced my opinion of the novel. Too bad really but yeah.

Thank you! Ooh, I hope you get to it soon, haha. Summer is a perfect time for HP, I reckon! πŸ™‚
