One Year Blogiversary

one year blogiversary

As I write this post, I’m playing Anniversary by Tony Toni Toné in the background because I’m extra and I can’t believe it’s been an actual year.

Firstly, I want to thank each and everyone one of you for following, liking, and commenting. Thank you for the tags, retweets and for being so supportive and welcoming.

When I started this blog a year ago, I didn’t think it would take off. I was in grad school when I made the decision. I still remember trying to decide what my first post should be. I settled on a brief introduction. The first few months were hard to keep up with because of my schedule but I am so happy I pushed through because I’ve met some pretty amazing people in the book community through blogging.

I love you all and I couldn’t ask for a better corner of the internet to be a part of. I look forward to another year of reviews, tags, and more.

P.S. If you made it to the end of this post then here’s a little surprise: To celebrate my one year blogiversary I’ve decided to do a GIVEAWAY!

Prize: 2018 release of your choice from Book Depository.

Details to enter:

1. Follow my blog
2. Tell me in the comments what you love most about blogging and what book you would like to win
3. Open internationally as long as Book Depository ships to you

  1. What I love about blogging? Mostly the liberty of the subject that I can talk. I feel free in front of my laptop and this blank page to write everything that come up in my mind. Sometimes, that made me want to talk about books, some kind of situation that i’m fighting for. That’s why I love. I love seeing people passionate by what they truly love and express it in a blog post ♡

  2. Congratulations on 1 year of blogging Merline!
For the giveaway, what I most love about blogging is being in the book community. I have met and made so many friends since I started blogging.

  3. Congratulations on your one year anniversary! My favorite part of blogging is totally all the people that you get to meet because of it. For me, reading is an introverted thing and the very act means I spend a lot of my time alone. But when you blog about it, you get to meet a ton of cool people that feel the same! I think my choice to win would be To Kill A Kingdom, because everyone keeps talking about it!

  5. Happy blogiversery! I just started up my blog, and my goal is to make it a solid year before loosing steam. I usually loose interest in things quickly, but I want to stick with this for at least a year. Fingers crossed! Also, can I just say, your blog is adorable? I love the color scheme and the graphics 🙂

    1. Thank you so much!!! It means so much to me because I’m never satisfied with the color scheme and graphics! I’m sending you well wishes. Blogging is hard to balance, but I enjoy interacting with people. I think that has kept me going.

  6. I know the giveaway is closed, but I’m here to say HAPPY BLOGIVERSARY. Your blog is both creative and organized.

This is random — have you ever done a post on how you grew your blog/Instagram? I would really love to know if you have any tips!

    1. Thanks, Vanessa! I’ve never done a post on that because it didn’t cross my mind until you mentioned it. I will add it to my list. But just in case I don’t post something soon, I commented on posts and participated in photo challenges on Instagram. I did a few giveaways when I reached certain milestones. The big thing about Instagram is posting creative photos. I always use natural light and edit them using VSCO. I use the same filter for consistency. I’m still surprised by my blog’s growth. That one just happened randomly after I joined Twitter.

That was kind of a long answer, but I will try to put it in a post.
