10 Bookish Christmas Gift Ideas

Happy Wednesday, book lovers! I wanted to write this post last year, but I didn’t get around to doing that because of grad school. I’m happy that I could put this together this year. You can never go wrong with books, but this guide has some other bookish gift ideas for the bookworm and book lovers on your Christmas list or even for yourself. Hope this helps!

1. Books

This one is pretty obvious, but honestly you can’t go wrong with books. The holidays are a great time to get boxed sets of series like Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Percy Jackson, Shades of Magic, and other series. You can also find collector’s editions during this time too. Remember to keep the person’s reading/genre preferences in mind. For book recommendations, check out this post.

2. Candles

A few of my favorite shops are The Melting Library and Alchemy & Ink. There are other shops out there like Tookish Candle Company There are also candle shops on Etsy. Just search for the fandom or character of interest. The photo above is a Kaz (Six of Crows) candle I bought from Alchemy & Ink.

3. Alex and Ani Harry Potter Bracelets (or Jewelry)

I have three Alex and Ani Harry Potter bangles. I have the Deathly Hallows (pictured above), “Dobby is Free” and the Sorting Hat. I hope to add “Mischief Managed” to my collection soon. The charm bangles range between $28-$42 and they release new charm bangles every month. They also have other types of Harry Potter jewelry if you are interested in that. It’s a great gift for Harry Potter fans who love jewelry.

4. Bookish pillows and blankets

I think these two are gift ideas that you can combine with some other things on this list. This is great for a cozy read vibe. For ideas, check out Redbubble and Society 6. For example, if you or the person you’re shopping for likes Six of Crows, these pillows that I found on Redbubble would be a nice start.

5. Bookmarks/Book Sleeves/Book Accessories

Etsy has some fantastic bookmark shops. To help you get started, here are a few shops I’ve purchased bookish accessories from: Dreamy and Co.. Fandom Sleeves, MoledroCraftCo. If you don’t know where to start, just search using the person’s favorite book or series.

6. Bookshelves

Every bookworm needs new bookshelves. Ikea’s Billy Bookcase are relatively inexpensive and easy to build. The price does vary by color. The white ones are $59.

7. Mugs/Tumblr

This gift doesn’t have to be bookish-related. Home Goods, Marshalls, and TJ Maxx typically have beautiful inexpensive mugs.

8. Bookish Art and Print

I think this is something you can pair with other items. Society6 and Redbubble have great items. Search by fandom.

9. Book Bath Caddy

If the person you’re shopping for likes taking baths instead of showers or if you want to treat them to a relaxing evening, a book bath caddy is great. I found this one on Amazon for $36.99.

10. Gift Cards

And if you can’t quite figure it out, Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and any independent bookstore gift card will work.

I hope this list gave you some great ideas. Did I miss anything? What items would you add to this guide? Let me know in the comments! Happy shopping!

  1. Love this list, Merline! That Dirtyhands candle is so cute! And I would be so happy if someone got me any of these gifts! I just recently bought some bookmarks off Etsy as a Christmas gift for myself 😂😂
