TBR Purge

Hey everyone! I don’t know what came over me last night, but I spontaneously went through my physical TBR and Goodreads shelf and purged some books from my shelves. If there are any I should reconsider, let me know!

Three Dark Crowns by Kendara Blake – I tried to read this book last year, but I just couldn’t get into in audiobook or physical format. It sucks because I have this and the sequel personalized.

The Queens of Innis Lear by Tessa Gratton – I don’t know why I added this to my TBR. I read the synopsis last night and I don’t think I’m interested.

Olivia Twist by Lorie Langdon – I don’t like historical fiction so I can’t jump into this anytime soon.

Intercepted by Alexa Martin – Don’t remember why I added this to my TBR either.

Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte – This book isn’t even out yet, but I purged it because I think I want a break from YA fantasy. I don’t know.

Vicious by V.E. Schwab – V.E. Schwab is a hit or miss author for me. I have such a hard time connecting with her writing and I usually only like the first book in her series. If this were a standalone, I would give it a shot, but it’s not.

Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik – I’ve seen mixed reviews about this and if I’m being honest with myself Rumpelstiltskin isn’t a fairytale I have any particular interest in.

Dance of Thieves by Mary E. Pearson – I read the first book in The Remnant Chronicles and it was just okay. This book is a spinoff from that world and since I don’t plan to read the other books in The Remnant Chronicles, I think it’s best to remove this.

These are the books I’m on the fence about, but willing to try a chapter to see if they stay on my TBR.

Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng

Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao

Toussaint Louveture by Phillipe Gerard

So there you have it. The books I purged last night and a few I’m on the fence about. Have you read any of these? Are there any that I should reconsider?

  1. I’ve only read Vicious and I really loved it, but then again it might not be for every one 🙂 Forest of A Thousand Lanterns is also a fantastic read; basically, I’m a sucker for anti-heroes books 😀 I haven’t read Everything I’ve Never Told You, but I’ve read Little Fires Everywhere and loving it, therefore I have Everything on my tbr too!

    1. I’m going to give Forest of A Thousand Lanterns a chance and I’ll set Vicious aside for a later date. I don’t want to regret unhauling it later in case I change my mind.
