Top Ten Tuesday: Sorting Characters into Hogwarts Houses

Hey everyone! Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week Jana assigns a topic and I make a list that fits the topic or some variation of it.

This week’s topic is character traits I love, but I’ve decided to switch things up because I’ve had this post in my drafts for a very very long time and I’m trying to clear out my drafts. I’m kind of obsessed with sorting fictional characters into Hogwarts houses and I love making aesthetics so I sorted the characters below and made aesthetics for them over a year ago. I posted this stuff on Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr at the time, but turned it into a blog post because I wanted to share it with more people. I hope you enjoy!

Inej Ghafa, My favorite Gryffindor

Inej is one of my all-time favorite characters. She’s brave, determined, and fiercely loyal to the dregs.

Katniss Everdeen, The Gryffindor on Fire

The Girl on Fire aka another one of my all-time favorite characters. Katniss was thrust into a this inevitable war from the day she volunteered as tribute for Prim. She never wavered from fighting for what was right.

Kaz Brekker, The Slytherin of the Barrel

Slytherins get a bad rap, but everyone needs a Slytherin in their life to get them out of shit. Kaz Brekker is the Slytherin we all need.

Natasha Kingsley and Daniel Bae, The Sun is Also a GryffinPuff

I think Natasha and Daniel both have Gryffindor and Hufflepuff qualities.

Sherlock Holmes, The Ravenclaw in 221B

One of my favorite morally ambiguous characters. Sherlock Holmes embodies all the qualities of a Ravenclaw. Rowena Ravenclaw is proud.

Julian Blackthorn, The Famous Slytherin

In prologue of Lady Midnight, Julian is referred to as “the famous parabatai” so I thought it would be a nice play on that to call him The Famous Slytherin. Julian is one of my all-time favorite male characters. As a Hufflepuff, I’d be honored to have him on my my side.

So there you have it. Hogwarts sorting for a few fictional characters. What’s on your top ten list this week? Thanks for reading!

  1. I LOVE LOVE LOVE sorting characters into Hogwarts houses – one time I was on holidays & my friends & I stayed up late to sort all our fave Marvel characters into houses 😂 Interesting choice for Julian – I definitely think he has Slytherin qualities but I reckon there’s a bit of Hufflepuff & Gryffindor in there too! Bet you he’d be a hat-stall!

    1. He’s one that I can’t going back and forth about trying to figure out which qualities he exhibits the most. I landed on Slytherin but I’m sure a case could be make for those other houses too.
