Hey everyone. Happy New Year. It’s been a while. I was in reading slump for about 3 months and I started a new job so blogging wasn’t top of mind. I got my mojo back the last week of December and read 6 books, which is indicative of the reading year I had. I want to take small steps towards blogging and making bookish content again so kicking things off with a wrap up.
2022 in a nutshell
I started a new career in January, traveled a lot for work, reconnected with family and friends, saw BTS in concert for the second time, went to therapy because of stress and anxiety, saw the most beautiful sunset on July 17, saved a 6 month emergency fund and reached multiple financial goals, changed jobs in September, started a health & fitness journey, read 56 books, and turned 34.
My reading was a roller coaster
My reading has pretty much been the same for the past two years. I read 56 books, but it was all over the place. I had months where I didn’t read anything or only picked up a book because of a prior commitment. May was my best reading month, but it was also a very stressful month personally. I didn’t read anything in April.

Very similar to 2020 and 2021, I hardly bought books. I only spent $199 on book purchases (this includes my B&N membership and a Kindle Unlimited free trial that I forgot to cancel). Most of the books I read came from the library, which I’m happy about. Very grateful for my public library.

Romance was my most read genre, which is a first for me. Fantasy’s my favorite genre and that’s usually my most read but it wasn’t even top two.

I primarily read adult in 2022. The only young adult book I read was In the Wild Light by Jeff Zentner, which was a 5 star read.

2022 was a hectic month for me too, my reading and watching really suffers. But life has been great lately, and it seems yours too based on some goals you’ve reach. I hope 2023 will continues to be an amazing year!
