January Wrap Up

Hi everyone! Can’t believe it’s time for the first wrap up of the year. January was a great start to the reading year. It’s great when I’m in the mood to read. Based on historical data, the number of books I read is typical for January. However, the data also shows that I’m on pace to be in a reading slump by mid-February lol. I’m not going to focus on that though because I’m enjoying myself. Without further ado, the wrap up!

Books read

I read 10 books in January. I listened to 6 audiobooks (58:07 hours) and read 4 in print/ebook. My average rating was 3.65 stars and majority of the books I read came from the public library. My favorites were Lady Midnight (re-read) and Sapphire Flames.

📖 Sapphire Flames by Ilona Andrews – 4.5 stars
📖 Emerald Blaze by Ilona Andrews – 3.5 stars
📖 Ruby Fever by Ilona Andrews – 4 stars
📖 Two Wrongs Make A Right by Chloe Liese – 4 stars
📖 Where We End & Begin by Jane Igharo – 3 stars
📖 The Book of Cold Cases by Simon St. James – 3 stars
📖 Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare (re-read) – 5 stars
📖 Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare (re-read – 4 stars
📖 Jackal by Erin E. Adams – 2 stars
📖 A Deadly Inside Scoop by Abby Collette – 3.5 stars

Randomly decided to do this challenge because I want to see how many I can fill in without trying. Also, made executive decision to not include books that start with articles or re-reads.

tv / movies

  • Castle – Finished the Castle rewatch that I started in December. I stopped at season 7 because the writing and the dynamic between Castle and Beckett felt different
  • Succession – Watched 8 episodes of the first season. I don’t think I love it as much as other people do. I’ll decide if I’m going to continue after season 1
  • Elvis – Didn’t think I’d like this movie or that it would be any good, but I loved Austin Butler in this. Great acting. Very captivating
  • Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul – Regina Hall was exceptional
  • Shotgun Wedding – This isn’t the best romcom, but it was entertaining and Jennifer Coolidge was very funny in her small role.
