Happy New Year friends! I hope you all had a wonderful time bringing in the new year. With the start of the new year, I thought this would be a great time to talk about what you can expect on the blog this year.
I made a lot of changes to my blogging schedule in 2018. I went from posting just 1-2 times a week at the beginning of the year to posting frequently. That happened because I had some flexibility after I graduated. Planning content for Blogmas gave me the opportunity to think about the direction I want to take my blog in 2019.
Posting Schedule
My plan is to post twice a week going forward. I don’t like having a structured schedule, but what I’m thinking is along the lines of this:
- Tuesday: Top Ten Tuesday
- Thursday – Saturday: Reviews and Discussions
Again, this schedule isn’t set in stone. It’s just something to help guide me throughout the year. I don’t plan to post Thursday through Saturday. My plan is to post reviews and discussions on a day that falls within that period. My goal is to use the days I don’t post to plan blog content for the upcoming week and comment on other bloggers’ posts.
Features
Weekly Wrap Ups and Waiting on Wednesday: I’m discontinuing these two features indefinitely. I love doing wrap ups and highlighting my most anticipated releases, but I don’t have that many books on my list for 2019. I don’t want to force content.
Reviews: I want to get back to reviewing books in a fun and relaxing format that fits my style. I will continue tinkering with review graphics, but you can definitely expect more mini reviews, bullet reviews, fangirling, and a casual/laid back review style with gifs and memes. I’m not a professional reviewer so I’m letting my personality shine like it does on Twitter and Instagram. Also, expect more reviews. I kind of got away from that at the end of the year, but that’s making a comeback! My drafts are empty and ready!
Monthly Wrap Ups: Because I’m participating in Beat the Backlist, you can definitely expect my monthly wrap ups to include an update about my progress with this challenge. I’ll also be making changes to my monthly wrap up format.
I think that’s all for now folks. As always, you can add me on Goodreads, follow me on Instagram and/or Twitter. I talk about books, blogging and so much more across all three platforms. I’m looking forward to a fun blogging year!
Super excited for all your plans for the new year! Top 10 Tuesday seems really fun, so I’m also considering joining 🙂 Looking forward to your reviews too ❤

Thanks! I hope you join. I love the prompts and I enjoy putting a spin on them when I don’t have anything that fits the prompt.

Inspiring – I find it so hard to stick to a schedule but really need to get into a routine and stick to it!

I’m trying to stick to 1-2 post a week so I think a schedule might help me keep a routine and get better at blogging.
