Hey everyone! January was an incredibly great reading month. In spite of how busy and stress I’ve been with work, I read 10 books. I don’t expect to consistently read this much in a month, but I’m glad to kick off 2019 this way. Also, I decided to make aesthetics for all of the books I read this year. It’s something I started last year, but didn’t continue because I got busy. So far, I’ve made them for the first 7 books I read and have included them in my reviews. Let’s get to the wrap up.
Books I Read In January

It’s difficult to pick a favorite read this month because I enjoyed most of the books I read. However, I think The Kiss Quotient slightly edges out the other books. I’m still thrilled about the representation in The Gilded Wolves and love the slow burn romance in The Winner’s trilogy. Sadly, King of Scars was my most disappointing read.
Reviews
The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah • The Winner’s Trilogy by Marie Rutokski • The Kingdom of Copper by S.A. Chakraborty • The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi

I can’t wait to read Gilded Wolves! I have it and was supposed to start it but I hit a bit of a slump. But overall I’m happy that I read 7 books so far, it was supposed to be 9 but I DNF two. Not gonna force myself to read things that I’m not liking this year

An update on my currently reading King of Scars: you’re right, Nikolai deserved better >-< I'm 50% in and so many people thinks the second half is better than the first, I hope it won't disappoint me any further!

I just finished it and I gave it 1 star as I realized I enjoyed nothing from this book

Lol! I hear you. I was going to give it 2.5 stars, but ended up settling on 3 because I did like a couple things about it.

Hahaha! That’s what I thought too! I enjoyed them, but they were missing something to push them over to a 5 star. 😂

Would you recommend reading the Grisha books before King of Scars? I read them years ago, so I don’t really remember what happened!
LikeLike
Yes! I would absolutely recommend reading the Grisha trilogy and Six of Crows. There’s a lot of references and callbacks from the original series.

A bunch of the books you read this month are on my TBR, but I’m specifically hoping to read The Hating Game and The Kiss Quotient in February in honor of Valentine’s Day! Congrats on the great reading month 🙂
