Weekly Highlights is a recap of things that stood out from the past week, which can range from books, media entertainment, and other aspects of my life.
I didn’t finish any books this past week, but I was super motivated to start reading Circe by Madeline Miller. I’ve read 9 chapters so far and I’m really enjoying it. I wanted to finish it thid weekend; however, I have 3 major assignments due in the next two days. I’ll have to wait until after I submit those assignments. The quote below is one of my favorites from the book so far.
You can teach a viper to eat from your hands, but you cannot take away how much it likes to bite – Madeline Miller
This week, I didn’t watch any television, but I did watch Captain America: Civil War on Netflix. I love this movie even though it feels more like an Avengers movie than a Captain America movie.
I mostly listened to the Black Panther album this past week. It’s pretty hard to decide which song is my favorite track right now. I honestly think my favorite track changes based on my mood. Some days, my favorite track is King’s Dead. Other days it’s All the Stars or X or Paramedic. I hope no one ever makes me choose between them.
This week was a little hectic and exhausting. I’m two months away from finishing my grad program and that can’t come soon enough. I decided I don’t want to walk in my graduation ceremony. I really want to take a trip somewhere instead of sitting through a 3-hour ceremony.
If you follow me on Bookstagram, you may have seen my excitement about Born A Crime by Trevor Noah. I placed a library hold through Overdrive 4 months ago and it finally became available for me to check out yesterday. I can’t wait to read it!
How was your week? What books are you reading? What are you watching and/or listening to? Thanks for reading!
