Hey loves! This weekly post is a recap of what I’ve been up to during the past week. I talk about the books I’ve read, share blog posts and reviews I published on the blog, what I’m currently reading, and updates. Sometimes, I may even sprinkle in a few goals. If you have a similar weekly post, let me know. I’d love to check it out!
My Plain Jane (My Lady Janies #2) by Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows, Brodi Ashton. I picked up this book because I read Jane Eyre over the summer and since that makes me a smug and sophisticated reader…Hahahahaha, I can’t say that with a straight face. Seriously, I read this book because I’m familiar with the story and thought I might enjoy this retelling. I liked it, but I don’t think it adds anything new or fresh to the story. There are a few pop culture references and some new characters, but it doesn’t deviate much from the original story. I liked the addition of Charlotte Bronte as a character.
The Death of Mrs. Westaway by Ruth Ware. This is my first time reading Ruth Ware. I’m currently listening to the audiobook and only 10% into it.This week was exhausting and pretty crappy. I’m moving out of my apartment after 4 months because I discovered squirrels in the apartment and the response from management about maintenance issues has been poor. I gave a 30 day notice so I’m now in the process of apartment hunting and need to start packing ASAP. This was a hard decision to make and I have anxiety about moving and finances, but it’s for the best. I may take a blogging hiatus in November. I’m not sure yet. I want to continue doing the things things I enjoy to prevent becoming overwhelmed since this move is happening so close to holidays.
